Admire the bus station edibles/bee plants plot

After much hard work clearing this plot of dull shrubs and old litter, on Saturday 20th April, Congleton Food4Free organised 13 volunteers who got down to planting around 200 plants that are either edible, attractive to bees, or both. Seedling swap Sunday 28th April

A seedling swap organised by Congleton Sustainability Group will be held at Astbury Mere Visitor Centre on Sunday 28th April 2pm to 4pm.

Bring any seeds, seedlings, produce or cuttings and spare plants along to swap or donate.

Also the very rare 2012 vintage of Congleton Apple Juice will be on sale – sadly the yields were so poor last autumn that there is unlikely to be much for 2013.

Congleton – the town that crosses its legs?

Cheshire East is proposing to close the public toilets in Congleton (at the bus station, market and West Heath - not sure about West St car park) in June, thus killing off the High St shops, market and public events in one fell swoop. Lambert’s Lane housing plan – public exhibition Tues 9th April
