Somerford planning decision – 5th Feb 2014 meeting

Just received this from Protect Congleton:

Somerford Parish Residents Action Group (SPRAG) would very much appreciate people attending the Strategic Planning Board meeting, commencing 10:30am this Wednesday (5th Feb 2014) at the Council Chamber, Municipal Buildings, Earle Street, Crewe CW1 2BJ, to show support for their request to the Board to REJECT the following application.

The “Somerford Triangle” planning application, 13/2746C, for 180 houses between Holmes Chapel Road, Black Firs Lane and Chelford Road, is to be decided at the Strategic Planning Board Meeting this Wednesday, 5 February 2014. The development is in addition to 200 houses being built in the parish at Loach Brook Farm and a further 70 under application at that same site. Despite the location being unsustainable, outside both strategic sites in the emerging Local Plan and the settlement zone line for Congleton, plus Cheshire East Council recently confirming that a 5 year housing supply is in place, the Planning Officer has recommended the application for APPROVAL.
