Eateries/caterers using local food

updated 8th Jan 2015

Local eateries (pubs, cafes, restaurants, takeaways) might source some or all of their ingredients locally – so please seek them out and ask them to contact us so we can add them to this website.

We know of one cafe/takeway in Congleton (Chaz and Millies’ – on the corner of Swan Bank)  that makes a point of using local meat and other ingredients wherever possible.

Similarly Room at the Top (in Victoria Mill) focusses on local supplies (or did do under its previous management – will have to check). Tel: 01260 276141.

The Young Pretender in Lawton St serves Bramhall-based artisan (ie not a factory!) Great North Pies, real ale chutney from Bollington-based Galore, coffee via Cherry Red of Congleton, Macclesfield ice cream (Granelli’s), organic bread (Macclesfield’s Flour, Water, Salt) and, since it’s a bar, we’ll mention the beer here too:  UK microbrewers feature, with many from within a 25 mile radius, such as Beartown Brewery, RedWillow (Macclesfield), Wincle Brewery, Buxton Brewerey, Merlin (Arclid), Bollington, and Marble (Manchester).

Outside Congleton, Nice Nosh has a refreshment van in the car park in Macclesfield Forest (Trentabank), specialising in local produce, such as serving burgers using Peak District farmed water buffalo.

See our map for their locations and contact details.
